Formally launching in August 2009, Leapfrog is a unique business-led charitable organisation that galvanises pro bono support for replicable climate change projects, plugging a very real and urgent need.

Leapfrog comprises a first rate network of leading professional service businesses, corporates, financiers and academics. We have had exceptional interest in our model from all we have engaged with, both target members and project clients. We have signed up a wide variety of companies to offer every type of advice to carefully selected, high impact projects. The projects are typically led by NGO's, charities, community groups and corporate CSR teams. Leapfrog helps enable transformational change to happen.

The projects are selected and screened by specialists from within the Leapfrog team, and fall into three main work-streams:
  • Delivering UK carbon reduction and renewable energy projects at the community level
  • Delivering international carbon reduction and renewable energy projects
  • Helping early stage carbon technology companies accelerate their business plan
Each project is matched with a bespoke pro bono professional service team operating within a co-ordinated project management framework.

The idea of investing pro bono support (skills and time) rather than simply cash, reflects the member organisations desire to do much more than just contribute money from a CR or marketing budget but to engage their people, let them roll up their sleeves and contribute in tangible ways using the skills of their day jobs. The model is thoughtfully designed and is proving particularly attractive in the current economic climate.

We are in the process of securing funding and are confident that we will imminently be able to recruit a full complement delivery team.
